Celebrate our Maestro’s mentor, Leonard Bernstein, and the 100th anniversary of his birth with a fully staged production of his operatic accomplishment Candide. In collaboration with Opera McGill directed by Patrick Hansen, join us for this scintillating version inspired by Voltaire’s masterpiece in which “all is for the best…in this best of all worlds.”
Brilliantly written and scored, Candide flies at breakneck speed, pumping up the adrenaline of players and listeners alike. Two of the show’s big tunes include the sweepingingly romantic love duet “Oh, Happy We” between Candide and Cunégonde and the wacky, up-tempo, coloratur soprano aria “Glitter and Be Gay.”
Featuring the singers of the Opera Studio of the Schulich School of Music of McGill University.
