Most of the music of Mozart’s cantata Davide penitente is derived from the unfinished Mass in C minor written two years earlier, although two arias and a cadenza for the last movement were newly composed for the work. In this concert, you will also have the pleasure to hear two works from Quebec composer Auguste Descarries, as Fantaisie written for string quartet and especially orchestrated for the MCO by François Vallières. At last, among the most uplifting compositions of the classical repertoire, Mozart’s Requiem will soothe and refresh your soul. This will be a glorious end to the MCO’s 78th season that will leave you in heightened expectation for the 79th.

Presented by St. Lawrence Choir (Philippe Bourque) and Ottawa Choral Society (Jean-Sébastien Vallée).
